Commenting on the data, Elise Flagg, Associate Broker with Houlihan Lawrence said, “In the last few years today's buyers have had to learn to accept the fact that SALT must be taken into their financial calculations and as a result we see the buyers coming back. Sellers also became more realistic and priced their homes accordingly … they listened to the market.  Sales increased in 2019.  Historically, we see the spring buyer market  begin to emerge after the Super Bowl ...and if Governor Cuomo gets his way maybe we will all get a slight SALT reprieve and see a bit of an increase in allowable SALT deductions, a welcome amendment for the entire real estate market -- if it happens.”
