Missing Bracelet and more from the Police

Lost and Found: An Edgemont woman reported that she lost a gold bracelet with pave diamonds valued at $3,000 after dining at Chat in Scarsdale Village on the night of June 21. Later that night when she realized it was missing she returned to the restaurant but they had not found it.

A 2011 Trek bicycle valued at $350 with a cable combination lock and saddlebags were stolen from the bike rack on East Parkway on June 24th between 1 and 8:50 pm.

A Specialized Sirrus hybrid bike valued at $500 was taken from the rack at East Parkway and Spencer Place between noon and 7 pm on June 26. A Kryptonite cable lock, bike tools and a bike bag were also gone.

An iPad that belongs to the Scarsdale School District was stolen from the desk of a phys ed teacher at SHS over the weekend of June 19 – June 21. Though the iPad was missing, the charger remained.

A key to an Acura was found at the intersection of Franklin and Stratton Road on 6/28. The keys are being held at the Police station for the owner to claim.

Scams: A Woods Lane man got a call from someone who claimed to be his grandson and said he had been arrested in the Dominican Republic and needed $7,000. The Scarsdale man was instructed to call a "Lt. Foster" at a phone number with an area code in Montreal. The Scarsdale man was able to determine the call was a scam – so when he got a second call asking why he had not called the alleged Lieutenant, he asked the "grandson" for the name of his sister and he hung up.

Heathcote Road residents reported that someone called them and tried to extort $1,000 from them, saying they had an open "financial fraud case" against them. They realized it was a fraud and hung up.

Identity Theft: a Boulevard woman told police that twelve fraudulent charges, totaling more than $3,000 appeared on her Wells Fargo Visa Card account . Ten of the charges were for Uber and two were for Jet Blue.

A Dobbs Terrace woman reported that someone used her Chase Sapphire Card to make a charge at a Hampton Inn in Mexico without her authorization. She closed the account and the bank issued new credit cards.

Damage: The rear driver's side window of a 2005 Cadillac Escalade was broken while the car was parked in a Palmer Road driveway overnight on 6/26 – 6/27. It appeared that the window had been punctured by an unknown object. Nothing was missing from inside the car.

A $300 exterior light fixture at a home on Ogden Road was shattered overnight on 6/25- 6/26. The homeowner heard the sound of glass shattering around midnight and looked outside to find a black Lincoln Town car parked facing his house. He called police when he thought he saw kids shooting a BB gun out of the car window, but by the time police arrived, the car was gone. The man did not realize that the fixture was shattered until the following morning.

A large utility pole along with transformers and wires came down behind the Golden Horseshoe Shopping Center on June 27th. It appeared that it simply fell down – as there was no evidence that it had been hit. Police contacted the businesses at the shopping center and Con Ed who cut the power to the pole and agreed to move it. The landlord will need to replace the pole as it is on private property.

Noise: Police received two calls about noise from a party on Morris Lane on the night of 6-23/. Police went to the house and the residents agreed to lower the volume of the music.

Dispute: A Coralyn Road woman called to say that her mother was withholding her medicine on the night of 6-25. Police mediated the dispute and the mother gave her daughter her meds. On 6-26, the Department of Social Services asked the police to check in on the women at the same address and everything was found to be in order.

On the Run: A School Lane man called police at 6:14 am on June 29 when his 86 year-old mother-in-law, who suffers from dementia got out of the house. He asked for help in finding her. Police located her on Popham Road, identified her and brought her home. The woman also left the house on Monday morning June 30th and residents called police for help.

Locked In: A River Road woman called police on the afternoon of 6-27 to say she was locked inside her car and could not get out. When police arrived she had figured out how to get out.

In a Ditch: On June 29 at 9:40 am the driver of a Chevy Impala attempted to turn the car around at East Parkway and Crane Road but ended up in a ditch at the construction site. A tow truck had to be called to pull the car out of the ditch. There was minimal damage to the car.

Animals:

A Richbell Road woman found a large turtle in her driveway on the morning of 6-27. She called police who placed the turtle in a box and brought it to a pond to be released.

A Valley Road woman was given a warning about keeping her dogs on leashes after she was found letting them run loose in Red Maple Swamp on the morning of 6-23.

No Posting: Police receive a complaint about flyers placed on windshields of cars parked in the Christie Place Garage on the evening of 6-26. Total Form Fitness in Hartsdale was given a summons for distributing the flyers.

Arrests: Aryn Wexler, age 31 of White Plains surrendered to police in response to a bench warrant on 6/26. Her father paid her bail and she was released and given a court date of July 2.

Summons for driving with suspended registrations were given to:

-Sharagay Tulloch of Mt. Vernon on June 25
-Laura Bozzone of White Plains on June 28
-Hugo Daniel Sonco of Elmsford who also got a ticket for driving without a license on June 28.
