According to Joan Behrens Bergman, Executive Director of Hoff Barthleson, “As musicians, we find ourselves turning to the language we know best when we want to help others in need. The desperate situation in Japan is such a moment. Through our music we hope to bring solace and to contribute to the return to well-being of the Japanese community. “
A Candlelight Concert featuring members of the Hoff-Barthelson Music School faculty and student body will take place at the Music School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale, on Sunday, May 1 at 4 pm in support of Japanese relief efforts. HBMS is honored to have many members of the local Japanese community as parents and students at the School, and a significant number of esteemed Japanese-American musicians on our faculty. We welcome the public to join us in support of these valued members of the HBMS community, and to join us in sharing thoughts and feelings through the language we at HBMS know best – our music.
Proceeds for the recital, for which a minimum $20.00 contribution is suggested, will be sent to the Japanese Red Cross.
