The Junior League of Central Westchester's (JLCW) Spring Fundraiser, Magic and Mingling, will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at The Coliseum in White Plains. The includes entertainment by Dan White, a fabulous buffet dinner and cocktails and an amazing silent auction. Magician Dan White is internationally acclaimed and has mystified audiences around the globe. Tickets are $100 each and admission includes a buffet dinner, open bar and entertainment. DOROT Westchester is holding its Annual Spring Event on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:30 AM. The brunch and guest speaker is Kristen Cusato. Ms. Cusato's compelling story has led her on a journey, from a successful television career to working towards the mission of a World Without Alzheimer's. Ms. Cusato left behind her position as Co–Anchor of Good Morning Connecticut on WTNH News 8 television to become the Southwestern Regional Director of the Connecticut Alzheimer's Association where she coordinates and implements all services and programs for those with Alzheimer's. DOROT alleviates social isolation among the elderly through the assistance of volunteers, fostering mutually beneficial relationships while enabling older adults to remain independent in their homes.The event will be held at the Center for Jewish Life at Westchester Reform Temple, 255 Mamaroneck Road, Scarsdale. There's still time to purchase tickets for the May 1st Gourmet Galaxy, Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service's foodie spectacle, at the Westchester Country Club. Westchester's leading chefs have joined to present favorites on their menus with a diverse range of offerings from appetizers to main courses and desserts. The evening will feature a cocktail hour and silent auction beginning at 6:30. For baseball fans, legends Doc Gooden, Lee Mazzilli and Roy White will be on hand. The Designer Showhouse of Westchester with hold their Cocktail Gala Preview on Wednesday, May 1st 2013, 6pm - 8:30pm at 2 Cooper Road in Scarsdale. The Designer Showhouse will feature over 25 of America's top designers and decorative artists who will transform a magnificent 1915 mansion into a decorating masterpiece. The Center @ 862 (formerly Scarsdale Teen Center) will hold their Seventh Annual Night of Rock hosted by Jimmy Fink of 107.1 The Peak on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Rudy's, 156 South Central Avenue, Hartsdale, New York. This year's teen and adult talent includes 20 Questions, a Scarsdale Middle School band, For Good Measure, Scarsdale High School's a cappella group, The Offbeats, a band of Scarsdale High School rockers from the late 60's through the early 70's and The Blues Mothers. The JCC of Mid-Westchester's Annual Gala takes place on Thursday, May 2, 2013 honoring Karen Spar Kasner of Scarsdale for her service on the JCC Board of Directors and JCC's Revitalization campaign. Assemblywoman Amy Paulin (D-Scarsdale) will receive the JCC's Community Service Award in recognition of her long, distinguished record of activism in public policy and community issues. The Gala will take place at 7:00pm at Old Oaks Country Club, Purchase, NY, and will include entertainment by mentalist Marc Salem, the king of mind-readers. MVP is sponsoring a Ping Pong Fundraiser on Friday, May 3 from 6:30-10pm to benefit its scholarship program and its MV "Hoops For Troops" program. Scarsdale's Sheryl Wudunn will be the keynote speaker at the "In the Company of Women" luncheon benefit on May 10, 2013. Pediatric Cancer Foundation will rock to '80's flavored funk as well as songs by the Beatles, Clapton, and Stones on Friday May 10 at Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club. Four bands including: The Del Bocas, Toasted Flakes, The New Irrelevants and Route 9 are donating their time and music to benefit children with cancer. President Bill Clinton will make an appearance at Westchester Community College at a fundraiser for student scholarships and other college support on Saturday, May 18. The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the Physical Education Building on the college's main campus at 75 Grasslands Road in Valhalla, New York. Prior to his discussion on national and world events, he will be presented with a State University of New York Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.
