To the Editor: The Scarsdale Forum welcomed more than 120 members and guests to Winterfest 2017, its ninth annual membership party at the Scarsdale Woman's Club on Saturday, February 4. Party goers were greeted at the door by Forum president Lena Crandall as jazz pianist Angelo DiLoreto set the mood for the evening in the festive music room. Bruce Wells held court at the popular beer tasting station featuring his home brewed beers and hot dogs steamed in Yeungling Black & Tan beer for the adventurous. Plates catered a delicious buffet dinner while Forum members Merrell Clark, Eli Mattioli and Jim Pullman took their turns at the piano entertaining the guests. A singular moment in the evening was the solo performance of ML Perlman, Vice President of the Forum singing the Beatles song, "Come Together." The evening ended sweetly in the dessert room where guests enjoyed the home baked goodies of several Forum members and a fruit platter donated by Standing Room Only.
We thank local vendors Blair Interiors Group, Lange's of Scarsdale, Metro Deli (Palmer Avenue), Moscato Restaurant, Parkway Coffee Shop, Peony and Serenity for generously donating door prizes for the event. The Scarsdale Forum donated a food composting kit to highlight the recent Village initiative encouraging residents to collect their food garbage in compostable bags and bring them to the Sanitation Department for deposit in special collection bins.
The Scarsdale Forum is a 113 year old civic organization dedicated to improving life in Scarsdale through its educational programs and activities.
